Ecommerce Migration SEOServices

Change platforms or redesign your store with a plan for every URL that earns organic traffic today.

A migration changes your URLs, templates, tags and structure all at once. We map what you have, audit the new build on staging before it goes live, and check how Google handles the change afterwards.

Who This Service Is For

For stores that are about to move, are moving now, or have just moved and are worried about organic traffic.

Stores Changing Platform

Moving to or from Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or BigCommerce. URL structures differ on every platform, so every old address needs a decision.

Stores Redesigning

A new theme or template looks better but often changes URLs, headings, internal links and structured data without anyone noticing.

Stores Changing Domain Or Structure

A rebrand, a merge of two stores, a new category tree or a move to a new domain. Each one is a migration even if the platform stays.

Stores That Already Migrated

The new store is live and organic orders fell. We find which URLs, tags or rules were lost and what to restore first.

Common Problems We Prevent And Fix

These are the migration mistakes we see most often, and what we do about each one.

01

No Redirect Map

The new store launches and the old product and category URLs return errors. Search engines and shoppers land on dead pages.

02

Redirects That Point To The Wrong Page

Every old URL is sent to the homepage, or redirects chain through two or three hops. Page value is lost and Google treats many of them as errors.

03

A Staging Site That Gets Indexed, Or A Live Site That Stays Blocked

The noindex tag or robots rule from staging is forgotten on launch day, or the staging copy ends up in search results.

04

Category And Filter Pages Rebuilt Without Their Content

The new category templates drop the copy, headings and internal links that made the old pages rank.

05

Titles, Canonicals And Schema Lost In The Move

Meta tags, canonical tags and product markup were set up on the old platform and nobody rebuilt them on the new one.

06

Nobody Watching After Launch

Indexation and traffic are not checked in the first weeks, so problems that are cheap to fix on day two are found months later.

How We Approach A Migration

Inventory first, redirects second, audit third, monitoring last.

URL Inventory And Priority

We list every URL from a crawl, Search Console, analytics and backlink data, then rank them by what earns traffic, orders and links.

Redirect Mapping And Rules

Each old URL gets a one-to-one destination on the new store. Where a page is removed, we pick the closest useful page instead of the homepage.

Staging Audit Before Launch

We crawl the staging site and check indexing rules, canonicals, titles, headings, internal links and schema against the old store.

Launch Support And Monitoring

We run the launch checklist with your team, test the redirects on the live domain, and watch indexation and errors in Search Console after go-live.

Frequently asked questions

How early should we involve SEO in a migration?
As early as the platform decision. The URL structure, redirect plan and staging checks are far cheaper to settle before the build than after launch. If the store is already live, we can still audit it and fix what was missed.
Do you do the technical work on the new store?
We write the redirect map, audit the staging site and review the result. Your developers or platform agency implement the changes, and we can give them exact specifications and check their work.
Will our rankings stay exactly the same?
Nobody can promise that. Some movement is normal after a platform change. The aim is to keep the pages that earn traffic reachable, correctly redirected and correctly tagged, and to find problems quickly.
Which platforms do you work with?
Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce, in either direction. Each has its own URL structure and its own SEO settings, so the plan is built around the platforms involved.
Can you help if traffic already dropped after a migration?
Yes. We compare the old and new store, find lost URLs, broken redirects, tags and blocked pages, and give you a prioritised list of fixes.
Do you handle domain changes and rebrands?
Yes. A new domain, a merged store or a restructured category tree needs the same inventory, redirect map and monitoring as a platform move.
