Magento SEOServices

Fix the defaults holding your Magento store back.

SEO built for Magento and Adobe Commerce. We correct the canonical and layered navigation settings that ship switched off, cut the crawl waste a large catalogue creates, and get server response times low enough to hold rankings.

Who This Service Is For

Our Magento SEO services are built for Open Source and Adobe Commerce stores alike.

Magento Open Source Merchants

A capable platform running on default settings. We correct the configuration, clear the crawl waste, and build category pages that can actually rank.

Adobe Commerce & Enterprise

Large catalogues, multiple store views, and a release process that involves several teams. We work inside that process rather than around it.

Slow, Extension-Heavy Stores

Forty third-party modules, a cache that is not doing its job, and a server response time north of a second. Speed is usually the first thing we fix.

B2B & Wholesale Catalogues

Customer-group pricing, restricted catalogues, and specification-led buying. We rank the pages a trade buyer searches for and keep the gated ones out of the index.

Common Problems We Fix

Magento ships with several settings that quietly damage SEO until someone changes them. Here is what we find on most stores, and what we do about it.

01

Category Pages With No Content

The category description is empty, or the theme renders it below the fold where it carries little weight. Those are your highest-value URLs and right now they rank on nothing.

02

Canonical Tags Left Switched Off

Magento defaults the canonical settings for categories and products to No. Until they are switched on, every duplicate URL your store generates competes with the original.

03

Layered Navigation Burning Crawl Budget

Every attribute combination in layered navigation generates its own URL. On a large catalogue that runs to hundreds of thousands of pages, and Googlebot crawls them instead of yours.

04

Products On Multiple Category Paths

With category paths enabled in product URLs, one product is reachable at a different address from every category it sits in. Link equity splits across all of them.

05

Sorting And Pagination Duplicates

Sort order, items per page, and pagination parameters each create another version of the same category. Without correct canonicals, Google picks one at random or none.

06

Server Response Holding Everything Back

Varnish not configured, Redis missing, indexers running on save, and unoptimised images. Magento can be fast, but not on default settings and shared hosting.

07

Migrations That Lost URLs

Magento 1 to 2 moves and replatforms regularly go live with a partial rewrite table. Organic revenue drops and nobody can say exactly which URLs were lost.

08

Schema Fighting Itself

Core Magento, your theme, and two or three extensions can each output Product markup. Google sees the conflict and shows none of it, so you lose the price and stars.

How We Drive Magento SEO Results

Configuration and crawl first, category pages second, content third. In that order, for a reason.

On Magento, the money keywords are category-level searches. Running shoes for flat feet. Stainless steel water bottles. Standing desks under $500. Those searches want a page of options, not one product and not a blog post. But there is usually a step before that: canonicals switched off and a crawl budget being spent on layered navigation. We correct the configuration first, then give every category one keyword target, its own copy, and its own internal link plan.

Category Keyword Mapping

We map every category to a search: product type, attribute, use case, and price band. Where the search exists and the category does not, we tell you which one to build.

Crawl & Canonical Control

Canonicals switched on and verified, layered navigation attributes set to noindex or crawlable case by case, and sorting parameters handled. Crawl budget goes to pages that earn revenue.

Schema Conflict Cleanup

We find every module and template outputting Product markup, leave one in charge, and make sure it is complete. That is usually all it takes to get price, availability, and stars back.

Performance Engineering

Varnish and Redis configured properly, indexers on schedule, JavaScript bundling reviewed, and images served in modern formats. On Magento this is often what unlocks everything else.

What’s Included in Magento SEO

Scoped around your version, extension stack, catalogue size, and release process.

Magento Store Audit

A full crawl of your store, a review of your SEO configuration and every installed module, and a prioritised fix list you could hand to any Magento developer.

  • Full store crawl & index audit
  • SEO configuration & module review
  • Competitor keyword gap analysis
  • Cache, indexer & vitals check

Category Page Optimisation

The highest-value work on a Magento store. Each category gets a keyword, buying copy in the description field, and links pointing at it from the rest of the catalogue.

  • One keyword target per category
  • Intro copy & on-page buying guidance
  • New categories built for missed searches
  • Title, meta & heading rewrites

Product Page & Schema Work

Descriptions that say something a manufacturer feed does not, plus the structured data that puts price, stock, and stars in the search result.

  • Product, Offer & Review markup
  • Canonical, sorting & pagination rules
  • Unique copy for your bestselling SKUs
  • One schema source, done properly

Content Programme

Research-stage content, written to rank and then hand the reader straight to the right category page.

  • Comparison & alternative guides
  • How-to-choose & sizing guides
  • Gift & seasonal buying guides
  • FAQ schema on every guide

Performance & Vitals

The work that usually moves a Magento store first: full page cache, server response, module weight, and images, measured before and after.

  • Varnish, Redis & cache tuning
  • Module audit & removal plan
  • Image & JavaScript optimisation
  • Before & after vitals report

Reporting Tied To Revenue

Rankings matter, but organic revenue by category, tied back to your Magento order data, is the number that decides whether this is working.

  • Organic revenue & AOV by category
  • Ranking movement on tracked keywords
  • Live GA4 & Search Console dashboard
  • Monthly call with your specialist

Our Magento SEO Process

Six stages, run in order, with you seeing the work at every one. No black boxes.

1

Store & Module Audit

We crawl every category, product, and layered navigation URL, review your SEO configuration and module stack, then work out how much of your catalogue Google actually holds.

2

Keyword & Competitor Mapping

Every category gets a target keyword and a realistic timeline. We separate the terms you can win this quarter from the ones that need authority built first.

3

Configuration, Templates & Schema

Canonicals switched on, layered navigation rules applied, and one clean source of Product markup. We work on staging and deploy through your release process, never straight to production.

4

Content Rollout

Category copy first, then buying guides, then product descriptions for the SKUs that carry your revenue. Everything reviewed by you before it goes live.

5

Authority Building

Editorial links from retail, industry, and trade publications, pointed at category pages rather than the homepage. DR 40 is our floor.

6

Seasonal Planning & Reporting

Peak season is won months before it arrives. We prepare the pages that carry Q4 and your seasonal spikes early, then report on what they earned.

Why Choose EcomsKit for Magento SEO

What a Magento-specialist team does differently from a generalist SEO agency.

We Work In The Codebase

Template edits, configuration, and schema are done by us on staging and deployed through your release process, not handed over as a PDF for someone else to interpret.

We Know Magento’s Defaults

Canonicals off, category paths in product URLs, layered navigation wide open. We know which settings cause the damage and the order to correct them in.

Category-First Strategy

We fix configuration and speed, then optimise the pages that hold buying intent, then write content. That order produces revenue rather than a nicer traffic chart.

Full Transparency

Every change, every page, every link, listed in the monthly report with the data behind it. You can verify all of it yourself.

Frequently
asked questions

How long does Magento SEO take to show results?
Configuration and schema fixes often show up within weeks, usually as more of your catalogue getting crawled properly and richer search listings. Category page rankings tend to move at months three to five. Competitive head terms take longer, generally six to twelve months, because you are building authority against retailers who have had a decade of head start.
Will you make changes to our codebase?
Only through your process. Template and configuration changes are built on staging, reviewed by you, and deployed the way your team already deploys. If you have an in-house or agency development team, we can hand them specs and QA the result instead. Nothing goes straight to production.
Should layered navigation URLs be indexed?
Almost none of them, but a few earn it. Where an attribute has real search volume within a category, brand or material usually, that combination deserves a proper indexable page. Everything else gets closed off. On a large Magento catalogue this is often the single biggest technical win available, because the crawl waste is measured in hundreds of thousands of URLs.
Do you write the content, or do we?
We write it, and you approve everything before it publishes. Category copy goes into the description field, and product copy is prepared for import rather than entered one SKU at a time. Where a claim touches sourcing, warranty, or compliance, we ask you to confirm the detail rather than guess at it.
Why is our Magento store so slow?
Usually a combination of things rather than one: full page cache not doing its job, Redis missing, indexers set to update on save, too many third-party modules, and unoptimised images. Magento is capable of being fast, but not on default settings and not on cheap hosting. We measure each contributor separately so you can see what is actually costing you, then fix them in order of impact.
Do you work with Adobe Commerce, multi-store and headless?
All three. On Adobe Commerce we work with your existing release process and staging environments. For multi-store setups we set canonical and hreflang rules across store views so they support each other rather than compete. For headless builds on PWA Studio, Hyvä, or a custom front end, we work from your developers’ deployment process rather than editing templates directly.
