Shopify jewelry SEO case study$1.7M+ Organic Revenue for a Shopify Jewelry Brand in 16 Months
A luxury lab-grown jewelry brand on Shopify came to us with a beautiful catalogue, ambitious ad budgets, and almost no organic footprint. Sixteen months later the same store was pulling $175K a month from search, enough to cut paid ad spend by 60% and keep growing.

Project overview
A luxury lab-grown gemstone jewelry brand on Shopify came to us with every advantage on paper except discoverability. Traffic depended almost entirely on paid search and paid social. Organic clicks were rounding-error small, and the product catalogue, despite carrying genuinely striking pieces, was invisible to anyone typing a category term into Google.
The store was converting at 0.4%. Paid ads carried nearly all revenue, with acquisition costs rising every quarter. The brand had a healthy top line but a fragile business model: one algorithm change or ad-platform shift and the whole engine sputtered.
Over sixteen months we rebuilt the store into a compounding organic channel: collection pages that competed with marketplaces, product pages built to close, a content system that earned links, and CRO work that made the traffic actually pay. By month sixteen, monthly organic revenue cleared $175K and held.
The core challenge
A luxury Shopify store priced $500 to $5,000, with almost zero organic footprint, a 0.4% conversion rate, and near-total dependency on paid channels. The vertical was competitive, buyers had long consideration windows, and every SEO decision had to earn trust and shorten the research loop before it could earn revenue.
What we set out to achieve
The brief was to build organic into a self-sustaining channel that could carry meaningful revenue on its own. Not incremental traffic. A channel large enough to change how the business made decisions.
- ✓Make collection pages compete. Turn thin category templates into buying-decision pages that could rank against marketplaces and category-first competitors.
- ✓Lift the conversion rate. Rebuild product presentation, trust signals, and checkout so the organic traffic actually converted at rates the business could plan around.
- ✓Reduce paid dependency. Build enough organic revenue to give the business real budget flexibility, the difference between a healthy channel and a rescue line.
- ✓Earn defensible authority. A clean editorial backlink profile in a high-ticket vertical where trust matters as much as ranking.
Our strategy
A five-part programme sequenced so each workstream made the next one work harder.
-
01
Shopify foundation, fixed first
Before any content or link work, the store had to be technically sound. Mobile page-speed fixes on a busy Liquid theme, crawl and index rules tightened, and Shopify’s default duplicate collection paths cleaned up. A small change that quietly eliminated a whole category of cannibalisation problems downstream.
-
02
Collection pages as the store’s revenue engine
On a jewelry Shopify store, collection pages, not blog posts and not the homepage, are where most organic revenue lives. We stopped treating them as filtered product grids and started treating them as buying-decision pages. Each priority collection got a keyword-mapped headline, explanatory copy answering the questions buyers actually ask before purchase, visible trust signals, FAQs capturing long-tail intent, and internal links connecting collections to related collections and educational content.
-
03
Product pages built to close
Multiple angles of every piece, lifestyle photography showing real wear, transparent pricing and returns, and reviews or certifications placed high enough to catch a hesitant scroll. The goal was to remove every unnecessary reason a buyer would leave and think about it.
-
04
Content that earned trust, and links
Content was a supporting player. We focused on the questions buyers were already Googling on the way to a purchase: comparisons, buying guides, care and maintenance, styling for occasions. Each piece was written to answer clearly and then hand the reader off to the right collection page via a natural internal link. Authority-building ran alongside: earning links from relevant fashion, lifestyle, and wedding publications, and publishing reference-worthy pieces that attracted mentions naturally.

05
CRO: where compounding actually shows up
Traffic doesn’t matter if it doesn’t convert. Once organic sessions started climbing, we ran the same rebuild on the checkout side: clearer guarantees and warranties, buy-now-pay-later added where AOV warranted it, and a mobile checkout simplified until it felt like one screen instead of three. Combined with rebuilt collection and product pages, the store’s conversion rate climbed from 0.4% to 4.3%.
The results: Shopify jewelry SEO before and after
Headline growth: monthly organic revenue and conversion rate
SEOSkit rebuilt the parts of our store that Google actually cared about. Collections started ranking, our product pages started closing, and six months in, organic was carrying the business. By the end of the engagement we’d cut paid ad spend by 60% and never lost a beat. The ROI is honestly the best marketing investment we’ve made.Founder Luxury Lab-Grown Jewelry Brand (Shopify)
Key takeaways from this campaign
On Shopify, collection pages are the business.
Not the blog, not the homepage. The collection pages. Optimise them like landing pages and the rest of the site starts pulling its weight.
The technical foundation isn’t the story, it’s the price of admission.
Get it done, don’t glamorise it, and move on to the work that actually drives revenue. Everything else compounds off the foundation you built in month one.
Compounding is real, but it’s late.
The first six months of a Shopify SEO rebuild look boring. Month seven is where the graph starts telling you the truth. Sequence the workstreams and hold your nerve.
CRO is what makes organic pay.
Traffic gains are impressive on their own. Multiplied by a 10× conversion rate lift, they become the reason ad spend gets cut in half, and the reason the business runs on a longer leash.
